Logistics Planning Specialist – CPS Green Belt (Contract) Caterpillar INC. Decatur, IL 2008-Current

As a process standards team member I created and published shipping (transportation) processes / procedures and converted that documentation to the CPS Standard Work format. Processes include all aspects of shipping Prime Product Units including shipping configurations, shipping loose items and any sub-processes supporting the shipment of Prime Products. I analyzed current shipping methods and processes and recommend changes to improve quality and velocity, reduce warranty costs, and eliminate waste, bringing Caterpillar and Keen Transport into compliance with the Caterpillar Production System (CPS).

Maintained all officers and enlisted personnel records. Ensured personnel records were current through daily posting, filing and screening. Monitored check out status of soldier files, managed filing systems and logistics of files, processed soldier discharges, retirement certificates, survivor benefits, and life insurance. Served as the focal point, local authority and expert source for all information in the Public Affairs Office (PAO). I shipped classified and hazardous materials daily using the DD250 and DD1149 forms. Generated commercial invoices and worked with the DCMA (government auditor) to verify government property and generated export certifications for foreign shipments. Aided in the production ramp-up of Automated Ceramic Initiator assembly line and developed a Preventative Maintenance program for all machines. Designed and implemented electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical updates to the production line. Performed maintenance on the machinery, created preventative maintenance manuals and procedures for operators and maintenance personnel. I was the Cognizant Engineer for maintenance on machinery containing Krypton 85 gas and other isotopes. Arranged for machine maintenance and repair when the engineering technician team was not capable of performing it. Managed store room set up, tracking of parts, stocking, cycle counts, materials planning, and issue of parts. Identifying and changing safety violations were also one of my responsibilities as a safety team member.

Ensured the facility operated within compliance of OSHA and DOT standards. Accountable for the distribution of rack supplies, equipment and point of sale advertisements. Main products distributed were potato chips, dips, and pop corn.
