As a recognized leaders in IT consulting on LinkedIn, I’m now a Category Leader on this new revolutionary website - KI-Work, since July 2008 I have started to provide leadership to experts and freelancers within this web development category

It was at Staalbankiers where I was first introduced to ICT security on a professional level. Here I learnt the basics of this subject and it made me realise the importance of ICT security especially within a financial environment.

This environment gave me objectives to develop myself and become knowledgeable and aware of ICT security. I got involved in a project in which we set up and secured numerous local offices throughout the country. This project led on to me taking on the role as Field Engineer at Lochard, where I performed several types of audits at client locations in Europe and The Middle East. Setup, installed and performed maintenance to in house developed hard- and soft- ware at client locations.

I also provided customer support through phone, email or on-site and carried out all system/network administration tasks at the local office. i.e maintaining the company firewall/VPN and managing servers and desktops. I was in this job for just over 2 years and then I joined ASC International BV as Systems Manager. This company is part of the Staffing and Recruiting industry.

For 2 years and 6 months, I managed their full ICT infrastructure. Ranging from server and network maintenance to setup/maintain and audit network/office security. While they have around 50 employees working internally they have around 2000 consultants working externally.

During my time I have structured and standardized their ICT environment and written/implemented a security policy which allowed externally working consultants logon through VPN. Other policies I wrote and implemented applied to internal authentication, antivirus/antispam, network usage, encryption of laptops and usage of available communication methods.
