professional summary
I work as a facilitator and consultant in the development of organisations and their individuals.
My particular strength is working with clients who may have individuals or units with widely differing objectives and the client wants everyone to agree and commit to action.
Typical assignments include strategy, project definition, project rescue and reviews, inter team work, customer focus and the wide area of performance management.
I spend time rigorously defining what it is the client seeks to achieve. This means that, when we start the assignment, everyone is focused with clarity on exactly what will have the greatest benefit.
Finally, my aim is to leave the client self sufficient.
I have been a pioneer in group facilitation for twenty years, developing unique approaches and techniques to make organisations be more effective. I am an innovative thinker on organisational culture and individual development.
professional background
I have worked in many sectors, particularly IT, but throughout the commercial world, government and the third sector. My experience includes Europe, the Middle East, the Far East, Africa and New Zealand.
Early in my career I was a supermarket manager and company secretary in civil engineering before moving into consultancy and training. Over the years, I have also worked in bars and a factory, in farming, driven trucks and been a hospital porter. Experiences such as these have given me a great appreciation of what works and what does not.
